Welcome to photographeire, a great meeting point for Irish photographers on DeviantART.

PE aims to draw together Irish photographers from all corners of the country, including Irish photographers that are currently living or working abroad. Our sister site is currently under development and will profile each of the sites members individually. Hopefully, drawing the Irish photographic community together, will lead to Irish PhotoMeets, and the creation of a network of friends you can bounce ideas off, suggest ideas and comments of your own, and grow as a photographer.

Every month we will be running a themed competition, commencing the 1st of every month and wrapping up a week before the new competition. Members will be polled for their choice of winning entry, all votes will be counted and the winner announced on the 1st of the next month.

Dublin City Council is to introduce a ban on eleven breeds of dog from properties including houses, flats and estates, with immediate effect.

The breeds are: English Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Rottweiler, German Shepherd (Alsatian), Doberman, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Japanese Akita, Bull Mastiff, Japanese Tosa and Bandog. Cross-breeds of these dogs or crosses of these dogs with any other breed are also banned.

Owners will be given the opportunity to rehouse the dogs but if alternative accommodation cannot be found for they will be destroyed.

I'd like to join and enter the Portrait comp. I'm from Dublin & currently living Bray, I've been on DA for a couple of years now but I feel I'm only starting to find my feet as a photographer.

Hey everybody, glad you liked Thaw enough to vote it for February's winner. There were some absolutely beautiful entries in the competition, but I think geography and timing were got my photo in first.

Living in Meath, my home was subjected to inches of snow over the night before the 23rd, and thinking I wouldn't be in college, I helped my auld lad out with milking the cows, and when I was finished I thought I'd capture something of the snow.

So I was wandering around taking photos when I noticed how this tree in particular had flowers emerging from under the snow as it melted in the rising sun. I thought of how perfect a representation of what Spring means it was, as well as how nice and looked, and took a bunch of photos. While looking at the results on my pc I was browsing DA, the connection formed in my mind, and I submitted my entry to the competition.

Again, glad you liked it too. My vote was for Spring Flower by *gracie16
